Review: "The frozen Bread Dough Ball was delicious. Once the dough was thawed, I preheated the oven to 400. The kids created two loaves out of the ball. Serving Size: If you make a pizza, it will yield a 12in pizza that's about 1/4in thick. If you make a loaf, it will yield 12 good size slices.
Description: Once baked, AVGF bread is Old European style rustic and crunchy on the outside, moist on the inside.
I recommend keeping your AVGF dough ball in the freezer until the night before you plan to bake a loaf of bread or make a pizza. When you take it out of the freezer, just set it on the counter, as it will take 6 hours to completely thaw. Because it's vacuum packed, your dough ball will stay fresh in the freezer for 6 months (and counting).
Once you’ve created the shape you want out of your dough, this is the shape it will remain throughout baking and until it comes out of the oven. The dough won’t spread out or rise or change at all once you’ve shaped it and baked it. It's already gone through the rising process in our AVGF kitchen.
To make a pizza:
Roll out the dough to make a 12 inch pizza that is about ¼ inch thick. Sprinkle AVGF Vegan Parmesan Cheese all over the top of the pizza. Side note: the Vegan Parm Cheese adds a great flavor to your pizza, but go ahead and taste it first to make sure you like it. It's also great on popcorn, salads, pasta, and anywhere else you would normally put regular Parm cheese. Before you put your favorite toppings on the pizza, you will pre-cook the crust. Put the rolled out pizza onto parchment paper or a nonstick cookie sheet. Put into the oven at 400 for 20-30 minutes (you want the crust to just barely begin to show a crispness). After 20-30 minutes, pull it out and add your favorite toppings. Continue baking at 400 for another 30 minutes or until you see that it’s ready.
To bake a loaf of bread:
Form the dough into the shape you want and put it into a nonstick loaf pan or onto parchment paper. Bake at 450 for 1 to 1.5 hours. Bake until your bread reaches the outside golden brown crunchy texture you desire. We've learned that it’s almost impossible to over-bake this bread, it will remain moist and soft inside.
